| 1. THE ABERDARE RANGES The Aberdare National Park is part of the Aberdare Mountain Range. Deep valleys, streams and rivers as well as cascading waterfalls feature in this region. Game viewing includes elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog and Kenya's indigenous and endangered Black Rhino. The Aberdare Country Club nestles on the slopes of Mweiga Hill with a superb view of the plains below, with the Aberdare range of mountains to the west and Mount Kenya to the east. Along with game viewing in the 1300 acre surrounding sanctuary, the club also offers activities such as golfing, horse riding and nature walks.
2. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE The Mara is probably the most famous and most visited Reserve in Kenya. It offers breathtaking views, an extraordinary density of animals including the "Big Five" (buffalo, lion, elephant, leopard, rhino) and many varieties of plains game. An impressive feature of the Mara is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of the Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara's grassland from late June through to August tracked by predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, Hyena and circles by vultures as the journey unfolds.
3. MOUNT KENYA REGION The region provides excellent game viewing. Examples include the black and white Colobus and Sykes monkeys, bushbuck, buffalo, elephant, waterbuck, black rhino, genet cat and the bongo which is a rare type of forest antelope. The region also has a fascinating variation of flora and fauna. The Sweetwaters Tented Camp provides an opportunity to experience luxury camping with Mount Kenya in the background.
4. SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE The reserve extends 104 square kilometers north of the meandering Ewaso Ngiro or "Brown River". A unique vista of rounded rugged hills and undulating plains are offered by the reserve. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animals and birdlife. Game viewing is excellent and includes reticulated giraffe, grevy's zebra, elephant, oryx, Somali ostrich, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
5. TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK The park offers tremendous views with diverse habitats ranging from mountains, river forest, plains, lakes and wooded grasslands. Its plain border with the southern Serengeti plains in Tanzania. Game includes leopard, cheetah, buffalo, rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, plains game, crocodile and small mammals including mongoose, hyrax, dik dik and and nocturnal porcupine.
